Quarterly divisional level child protection meeting held in March. Due to Covid – 19 they could not
conduct the Divisional Child Development Committee (DCDC) meeting for 01 year. DS, ADS, District child
right promoting officer- DCRPO, Child right promoting officer- CRPO, grama niladary officer- GNOs, Education
department officials, Police, MoH staff, Village level child development committee- VCDC members and
NGOs representative all participated in this meeting. Some of the points discussed were VCDCs need to be
reformed in all 24 GN with the leadership of GNOs and every month GNOs need to report their progress.
School level child protection committee are needed. It was positive to see 14 VCDC members attending this
meeting. AU Lanka also supported by giving a transsport allowance for VCDC members who have attended
